Hi Beauties,
Our VLOG today is How To Feel Your Best During the Holidays. This is an amazing time of year where we get to see family and friends that we don’t always get to see. There’s a lot of parties and a lot of fun.
But as we all know it can also be very busy and very stressful. We tend to eat heavier and have more bloat, and fatigue. And today I’m going to give you my five tips on how to feel your best and really enjoy the holiday season.
Tip #1: Stick to routine
If you have more parties at night, still continue to do your morning routine. Continue to drink your Glowing Green Smoothie®, having your hot water with lemon. Your body, digestion, and circulation, will like that grounding element. You will continue to function better and feel better.
If you are too busy to get to the gym, maybe do a home practice or a YouTube workout routine. Choose something that you can do at home, but gives you more of that routine.
Same thing with sleep. Sleep tends to be very off this time of year. When you’re out at a party, try your best to be present and get home so you can do your evening routine. The closer you stick to a sleep routine the better you’re going to feel overall.
Tip #2: Support your digestion
This is key in helping you feel your best the entire holiday season. While you may be eating heavier foods, you can still take your probiotics and digestive enzymes. These two supplements are super important to really furnish and supply and nourish a healthy gut.
Your immunity is up, your energy is up, you just feel more vitality and your skin looks its best. And digestive enzymes are going to help break down whatever you are eating. They’re going to help reduce bloating and give you more nutrition from your food.
In turn you will feel more vitalized. By really taking your supplements throughout the holiday season, you are going to give yourself a huge favor and feeling your best number.
Tip #3: Meditate and breathe
There is so much going on. We tend to feel like we’re packing more in. We can get into really shallow chest breathing, which increases anxiety. It can stress our adrenals, creating more stress hormones like cortisol. Unfortunately this can lead to belly fat
Take time in your busy schedule to just sit and breathe and close your eyes. Feel your own breath and your body. This is going to do wonders in keeping you present and helping you enjoy the time more when your with family and friends.
Tip #4: Hydrate
Sometimes we forget to hydrate during the season. It tends to be busy, so maybe we’re not drinking water as much water. There are heaters on all the time, making the air drier. Maybe you’re drinking more alcohol and the more dehydrated we get, the more fatigued we tend to get.
This makes our skin start to look dry and hair more brittle. This also contributes to more constipation that can start to accrue in your body. You really want to make sure that you’re staying fully hydrated this holiday season.
Again, maybe you’re not eating perfectly, but you can be sure to drink lots of room temperature water. Have your hot water with lemon, drink elixirs, have ginger or lemon tea. This will do wonders in helping you feel your best.
Tip #5: Be grateful and enjoy
This is a really important one. I think we have a lot of anxiety around the holidays. It brings out a lot of perfectionism in a lot of us where we want things to be perfect. We want to get the perfect gifts and have the perfect meals.
The holidays can be messy and sometimes things don’t always work out. There are delays, traffic and relatives that say things you wish they wouldn’t say.
In Closing
It’s important that we focus on what we do have and all our blessings. Relaxing and not expecting anything to be perfect. This is where dropping expectations can really help us enjoy.
If we want things to be a certain way and they’re very different than how they are, we’re going to suffer and feel stressed. Try to go with the flow. Nothing’s going to be perfect. However, you can still breathe and be there in the moment. Laugh at the messiness of life and not take it too seriously.
I wish you from the bottom of my heart a wonderful, amazing holiday season. I hope you take to heart some of these tips. Leave me a comment, let me know which ones resonate the most with you. Let me know how you’re doing. Sending you lots and lots of love and I will see you next week.
It is great advice. I need to forgive myself that it’s OK to be imperfect. It makes me feel easier and much less stress.
Thank you, Kimberly.
