Today’s solocast topic is: Practical Guide to Resurrect Your Soul and Live Your True Authentic Self

I have found this text instrumental in my growth, in my personal healing, in my personal abundance, and being able to create the life that I want. And I’m so excited to share with you directly from this text today, and we’re going to be doing it in a very practical way.

Kimberly: 00:00 Happy Monday loves. And I’m very excited for our solocast today, which is a Practical Guide to Resurrect Your Soul and Live Your True Authentic Self. I am very excited for today’s show because I’m going to be discussing this from the perspective of the Bhagavad Gita, which is an ancient text, which comes from ancient to India. It’s part of the Vedic texts and it is a whole story. So to speak, it’s an allegory, very specific, very practical lessons on how to win the battle of life. So it is about how really to win the battle battle of the mind, how to align to our true self, how to reach our fullest potential. And I have found this text instrumental in my growth, in my personal healing, in my personal abundance, and being able to create the life that I want. And I’m so excited to share with you directly from this text today, and we’re gonna be doing it in a very practical way.
Fan of the Week

I think you’re gonna get a lot of great content out of today’s show. So I cannot wait to dive right in, but before we do, I wanna give a quick shout out here to our fan of the week as always. And his or her name is JPetra. And JPetra says, keeps my spirits high. I started listening to Kimberly Snyder’s podcast just a few months ago. However, after I read her beauty detox power book, some years ago, it changed my life forever. Her words and thoughts and her books really hit home for me. This podcast is the perfect tool for me to continue high vibrations throughout the day. And I listen to it daily. Jay Petra. Thank you so much.

Kimberly: 02:55 So you can move forward in your life. And when I was transitioning my life, well, there’s been several periods where I transitioned my life. This form, this particular practice of affirmations was incredibly helpful to me. So I’m very excited to share it with you also, please be sure to subscribe to our podcast that way you Don miss out on any of these solocasts interviews, which are Mondays or our Thursday Q&A show. And finally be sure to please share the show with anyone and everyone that you think would benefit in your circle as we will get into in just a moment. One of the, um, aspects Gita talks about is, is generosity is really sharing. It really brings forth our true nature, our soul. So that includes generosity with love generosity, with sharing knowledge and information. So anybody that you think might be uplifted in some way from the show, please be sure to pass this along so we can continue to spread the love together.

Kimberly: 04:02 And my last little announcement here before we dive deep into the Gita is that the new book baby is out. It is called You Are More More Than You Think You Are – Practical Enlightenment For Everyday Life. And as I read this, this, um, fan of the week comment here about the beauty detox power, which was published in 2015, it was published seven years ago. I think that I had a lot to say and share in that book. And I love that book very much, but where I sit today, like all of us there’s been a, a lot that’s happened and I believe that it’s like a garden that it continues to unfold and there’s more and more that we are able to share and we’re able to connect more deeply. And I certainly know that of myself. And so this new book is an even deeper offering about living your fullest truest, most joyful, peaceful, fulfilling life.
Kimberly: 05:04 I believe that’s what we’re here to do is to connect to the truth, to connect to our potential. And so it is similarly today’s podcast. It’s going to be very, it’s a very practical book. And so I think you’ll enjoy it very much. It’s wherever books are sold online, Amazon and also is like Barnes and noble and so on. So I cannot wait to share it with you and please let me know how you do with it. If you have any questions, you can connect with me on the website, my SA luna.com on social at underscore Kimberly Snyder, um, or other places in cyberspace where you can find me, but those are the main sources. So thank you so much for being here. Thank you for everything. And with all that being said, let’s dive right into our show today. So I’m really passionate about this topic.
Solocast: Practical Guide to Resurrect Your Soul and Live Your True Authentic Self
Kimberly: 05:54 Again, practical guide, a Practical Guide to Resurrect Your Soul and Live Your True Authentic Self. So what that means is the authentic self. The true self is where our power is. It’s where we are able to rise above the ups and down downs of daily life. The negative messages that are always fed to us, unfortunately in society in the media and so on. And we are able to transcend the mind chatter and the fear. It means that we start to move forward in truth and in truth is our power. And I’m talking about practical power, where opportunities start to open up, and there’s more of a flow in what you wanna create in your work, in your career, in your personal life, whatever it is, it is so incredibly powerful. And the reason I’m really passionate about sharing the Gita is because it is so prescriptive and it has made such a difference in my life.
Kimberly: 07:07 I do believe that these great teachers that have come before from all cultures in many different forms have come forward to, to have help us <laugh>. And so we are not lost. We do not have to be lost. We do not have to be alone. We do not have to feel that our lives are in darkness. There is light there, a GU, someone that takes us from darkness to light, and there have been many different gurus through the ages that have come forward. So, you know, there’s many different paths. I believe to the one, the teachings of the Gita, the teachings of Jesus, who I also feel very close to the teachings of Buddha, for instance, and the Tao Te Ching, which comes from L zoo, which comes from ancient China. So there’s many, many D front pathways, but today I wanna offer you this particular one, which comes from the VA texts.
Kimberly: 08:06 And it’s something that, you know, I, I read almost every day. I like to read a couple pages of the Gita and it grounds me and it, it really helps me feel my inner strength. So without further, or do let’s get into some of these teachings. So where I’m pulling from today is in the it’s in the first few verses of chapter 16 of volume two. So the Gita quite long, I personally love the commentary by Paramahansa Yogananda. So you can check that out if you’re interested, but in this section, it’s laid out in great detail, the sole qualities that make man godlike, or you can say expanded or abundant or whatever word you wanna use. So there’s 26 qualities. I’m going to go into a few of them today. And maybe at a later time, we can go into others. But I, these are the ones that I felt really drawn to share with you today.
Path to Awakening:
#1. Fearlessness
Kimberly: 09:16 And they are not in order. I’m just pulling them from these 20, this list of 26. And then I’m gonna, we’re gonna discuss some practical ways to implement it into your life. So the first one, actually it, this is in order the first quality that the Gita discusses and the first quality that Paramahansa, Yogananda size on the path to awakening on the path to living your best life is fearlessness. And this is the reason that the first chapter of my new book, you are more than you think you are, is fearlessness. Because if we aren’t able to go past fear, we don’t feel any trust in life. So what that means is if we’re constantly in fear, it means that we tend to close up. We tend to constrict. We tend to try to control things. It could be fearful of carbohydrates. It could be fear of going out because there’s so much happening in the world.
Kimberly: 10:15 It could be of speaking out at work because we’re fearful of our job situation or whatever it is. So what the Gita teaches us is that fear lives in the external. It means that we are putting our safety and our security in something that is unstable. So by definition, we will always feel worried. We will always sense that unsteadiness and we will continue to fear feel more and more fear. Unfortunately, this leads to a complete breakdown in our lives, including our bodies. Fear keeps our nervous system in IMB between our sympathetic and our parasympathetic nervous system. Meaning our organs start to take a hit. It means that there’s this low grade inflammation that consistently builds in our bodies, which we know now from so much extensive research is the precursor pretty much every illness, as well as low energy and a rated aging. So for many reasons, in order to live our authentic best life, we need to have tools to be able to call in, to move past the fear.
#2. Keep anchoring yourself to this present moment
Kimberly: 11:31 So I’ll mention a few here. Number one, keep anchoring yourself to this present moment is largely born of, you know, of course there’s fear of some immediate situations, but the type of chronic fear I’m talking about really plays out in the mind. It plays out in the ego, which feeds us these messages and keeps us in this state of projecting. What if this happens in the future? What if the economy collapses and blah, blah, blah. So, and it’s based on some sort of trauma or some sort of pattern that’s that’s come about in the past.
Kimberly: 12:10 So what we wanna do when we start to feel the fear is we just want to come back into this moment. So a couple quick things you can do is you can just look around the room and you can name a few objects that you see. You could say this in your head. You could say this out loud right now. I see a Monera plant. I see a rose quartz, Ritz, crystal, and I see a whole library of books. When we start to tune in to the surroundings around us, this is a helpful way to sort of break that cycle of, oh, the spinning in the mind. It’s like, if we go driving our car and we’re in our head so much, we don’t even know how we got there. Somehow our bodies were on autopilot and we were able to drive the car, but coming into the here and now, first of all, it can be helpful to just ground into your presence surroundings.
Kimberly: 13:08 The next thing I recommend is filling the bottoms of your feet, tuning into your breath, and then just feeling your body right here. And right now in a more long term sense, meditation is the most important activity we can do as humans to anchor to the true self. It is the practice of moving beyond the humdrum ups and downs of daily life, into the expanded part of us. And so if you’re interested in learning meditation, I have a whole library now of practical enlightenment meditations for you, which are available over on our Solluna app, they are free. They are available to you. You can select whichever ones you are drawn to, but the more that we anchor inside, the more we will feel that the strength that we can rise up to any situation that comes our way, and we need not feel like we’re being tossed around like a leaf, right? A leaf in the wind. We feel the groundedness. We feel this, this strength and the power. So meditation is something that I recommend overall activities, which will definitely allow you to feel more of that deep, deep trust trust in yourself, trust in universe, spirit, trust that you can, whatever comes, whatever challenge comes your way and ultimately you will be okay.
#3. Cleanness of body and purity of mind
Kimberly: 14:46 So the next quality that I am drawn to sharing is a practical one. This is called cleanness of body and purity of mind. So this is Celia in Sanskrit, and this is respect for the indwelling paintless spirit within us. This is respect for the bodily temple. So when we create a healthy harmonious environment inside of our bodies, it allows us to feel more clear in our minds to have more purity of mind, to be more in tune with our intuition, to live for ’em our truth and our potential. So some of the practical ways that we do that is number one, <laugh> quite literally using cleaner products. This includes our skincare products, our soaps, our household products, our water. We wanna make sure we have a really good water filter, very practical things, but all these little steps add up to create a, a environment inside of you that is less toxic and less blocked with these chemicals, which can have neurological effects.
Kimberly: 16:09 They can have, you know, detrimental to our endocrine system. They, you know, known as endocrine, disruptors, hormone, mimickers, all sorts of things. So we just wanna respect the natural health of our body and really use natural products. Of course, we have our Feel Good Solluna Skincare that I use every day that I offer as a way to take care of our beautiful skin, our largest organ, but in a way that is not toxic in a way that is powerful, but supportive. Another very, very important way to take care of our body is to use the proper supplements. And I don’t re a lot of supplements and I don’t always talk about them here in great detail, but the three Solluna supplements, which I offer from my heart because I take them myself and they have helped me create enormous harmony in my body and in my mind, because they’re focused on digestion and gut health are, are number Solluna SBO probiotics.
Kimberly: 17:16 I believe in nature, I don’t believe in numbers. So these probiotics are sourced from they’re in alignment with the way that our ancestors used to eat soil from unwashed plant foods, it would come in and the harmony of being this close to nature would create an internal harmony within the gut, within the microbiome. And so I take two every morning, I recommend that you do the same. I also take digestive enzymes before I eat meals before lunch and dinner. And this allows the proper, full, most robust ability to break down the foods and extract the nutrients, which supply the body and cleanse the body. And this is a wonderful way again, to just maintain the health of the body. And then the third and final supplement that I take. Well, sometimes on a daily basis of otherwise. Sometimes I take it every other day is Detoxy which you take in the evenings.
Kimberly: 18:15 And I love this product because cleanliness of the body means we’re putting in proper nutrition, but we are constantly removing assets, heavy metals, excessive, um, undigested matter, we’re constantly cleansing just our D GI tract, but also our blood flow, which goes through the colon and can pick up some of these impurities. So I take it in the evening. I don’t know about you, but I always feel like I need more support in releasing more. If we don’t release enough, if we don’t have really robust bowel movements, day in and day out that matter accrues, and it keeps us heavy and we don’t reach our fullest potential from a physical standpoint, but also from an emotional mental and spiritual standpoint, lightness is the goal because there’s more light in ourselves. There’s more pro there’s more energy. And if we are, again, riddled with toxicity, we don’t have access to that full light, which will be noticed in others as radiance it’s attraction.
#4. Gentleness, thoughtfulness, and kindness
Kimberly: 19:20 It is creative power. It is, uh, manifesting power behind all of your efforts. So these are some of the ways that we can work to keep our body really clean and really peel or, and so, again, I’m not going in particular order, but another one of the qualities that I feel really drawn to is gentleness known in Sri as Marvo. And I wrote about this recently on Instagram, if you would like to check out some of, uh, ways that I talk about it on there as well, a little bit differently, but gentleness is such an important quality that it’s named in the Gita. And we don’t always talk about this in modern life. Instead, we tend to move towards this more pushy approach. We’re hurrying where we’re trying to fit in as much as we can, where we can become sharp and impatient. And this of course starts very much in relationship with self.
Kimberly: 20:25 So it means we are hard on ourselves and we beat ourselves up for not getting enough done in the day. And that, that extends out to especially our closest inner circle, where we can become that more hardened, um, character. But as the Gita teaches, gentleness is the energy of spirit. Gentleness is where the real power is. Gentleness is kindness. A gentle person attracts more to them than if we’re pushing, pushing, pushing. And even though in society, it may seem the opposite that we need to push in order to get ahead. Actually, the truth is gentleness has a thousand times the power gentleness is love. Gentleness. Again is just thoughtfulness and kindness. So I invite you today to reflect on ways in which you can bring more of that gentle, softness, that energy into your life. It can be with yourself. It can be with your daily schedule.
Kimberly: 21:36 It can be in the pace in which you walk, the way that you move through life, the way that you drive <laugh>, it can be a million different ways. Where can we add more gentleness in when we’re cooking, when we’re speaking all the different ways, gentleness is more relaxed in the body. Gentleness is gonna feel a lot more relaxed to your nervous system. So it’s a really beautiful quality to contemplate and to think about how more and more we can integrate this into our lives. <affirmative>
#5. Absence of fault finding
Kimberly: Now, oh, next quality that I wanna talk about, which I think is important in our modern life is absence of fault finding and calumny which in S grade again means a pie. So what this means, and I love how Yogananda’s commentary here, he says absence of fault finding and Cologny has sends one’s spiritual evolution by freeing the mind from concentration on the weaknesses of others, to focus wholly on the full-time job of bettering one’s self.
Kimberly: 22:56 It’s very easy when we don’t feel good inside, when something feels restless or just frustrating or something, didn’t work out the way that we wanted to, or maybe our energy feels for whatever. It’s very easy to project that out. And you see this played out in everyday life. You see it, all the gossip magazines, right? Just attacking other people. You see it on social media, certain circles of people that get together. And, you know, I mean, and I’ll bluntly talk shit about other people. And yet what this does, is it actually tears down our own integrity? Yoga Nanda goes on to say that…
Kimberly: 23:57 Gossipers embrace the false notion that they can make themselves cutting taller by cutting off the heads of others. On the contrary, there is no greater diminishment of character than in such behavior. So as we move into our highest potential, this gentleness, this kindness starts to expand so much that we realize, wow, everybody, as the Gita teaches us is in this great battle of life. Everybody is, is in it, right? We’re all going through it. We’re all striving. We are all trying to do our best and life is challenging and we have wounds and patterns from the past, and none of us have had a perfect childhood. So a lot of us have deep, negative beliefs, emotional blocks that we are working through. So we need to put the attention back on ourselves and see how we can continue to align more to truth and love and give people a break
Kimberly: 25:02 Here where it says Philippians four, seven. Jesus said, judge, not that ye not be judged for, with what judgment ye judge, you shall be judged. And with what measure you meet, it shall be measured to you again. So the less that we look to others’ faults, the less we will be judged quite literally, which is let’s face it. It’s just this, all these struggles between humans. It’s an enormous drain of energy. So there’s this great pulling back of power. When we just take our energy away from fault finding, it means that we really respect. We just observe ourselves and we can start to notice this, you know, perhaps it’s just a pattern or an old habit of, huh, I’m gonna about to say something about someone. And then we, we take a breath, we bite our tongue, we move energy away. We keep the conversation in love and light, and therefore we will align more to love and light every day.
#6. Non-injury, non-violence
Kimberly: 26:13 And so that is very, very important. The next quality is a himsa in Sanskrit or non-injury. And this is one of the 10 commandments in the Bible about shout, not kill and non-injury is nonviolence. And so this also corresponds to different aspects of our cornerstones. There are different ways. This is interpreted, but of course the great prophet Mahat mahi was a very adamant plant-based eater. And he was adamant in that if we want to really reach the fullest potential of kindness and love, it means that we are also not killing higher beings with more advanced nervous system, namely animals. So this is where the aspect of being plant based vegan or more plant based. It doesn’t necessarily have to be all or nothing back to that gentleness. This is not, you know, we don’t wanna foster constriction and right wrong, but this idea that we are eating animals, they’re being killed.
Kimberly: 27:27 And even if we are not directly doing it in hunting someone, when we choose to purchase those foods, someone else is doing the killing for us. So there is that participation in, in killing. And so from the beginning, this plant based way of eating has been expelled in the Gita, in, in the ancient texts. And on a personal note, when I was backpacking and I went to India, it was the primary. The foremost reason that I became plant-based and vegan in the first place was because of these teachings was because of my meditation practice. That was the reason. And then I went deeper into the health reasons and I started studied nutrition subsequently, and then the environmental effects subsequently. But this, these teachings came first for me on my personal journey, but non-injury, and a HSA also extends to all of the cornerstones. It means that we are not violent in our emotions and our words back to gentleness. Again, they all sort of tie together. We wanna be more kind. We wanna take a breath, we wanna try to take a breath. We all lose our patients. Sometimes we all have sharp words sometimes, but trying not to hurt with our words, trying to be in less emotional chaos, which can mean taking a break sometimes stepping away until we’re able to reregulate our own nervous system, taking a breath waiting 24 hours before you send that email or that text, whatever it is, try not to be violent in any way.
Kimberly: 29:10 And then in the ways in which we treat our bodies, I look back on my own life and there’s been many ways. I’ve been violent and harmful to my own body, with alcohol, with binging and purging, with eating disorders, with over push myself, to the point where to this day, I still have issues with my knees. I would run so much because I was trying to be skinny. I was not kind to the body. So think about ways in which you can be really loving with your body as a day to day, week to week practice. And then spiritually, we don’t want to be, um, violent or judgemental. You know, this is my own interpretation as well with, with anyone’s true nature. So we just don’t, we wanna see the light and not others. Of course, this also relates back to absence of fault finding.
#7. Modesty and the power to feel shame at any wrongdoing and to be willing to correct one’s self
Kimberly: 30:05 I just wanna be more, more kind in all the ways we wanna connect to the spirit inside of us and see that spirit in others show continuing along here, there are so many that I wanna talk about. Uh, I will say that if this podcast resonates with you and you would like me to go into more of these teachings and more of these qualities, please write into the show. And that feedback will encourage me to do another podcast or solocast at some point in the future, talking about some more of the qualities at the next one I wanna talk about now, I’m gonna discuss two more today on the show is modesty, which is CRE I think I’m saying that right. H R I I’m certainly not a Sri scholar. So I studied a little bit, there was a little bit, uh, I think there was one class only in my AIC education where VI Jay was teaching us some of the letters and the symbols, but to be honest, it is a very complex language.
Kimberly: 31:10 And so I apologize if you know, some of these pronunciations are not completely correct, but the essence, you know, the, the intention of what we’re trying to convey here is there. Of course. So modesty <affirmative> as Yogananda explains in the, in the, in the commentary is the power to feel shame at any wrongdoing and to be willing to correct one’s self. So this is the type of shame that I feel is helpful. As I talk about in my new book, you are more than you think you are. We don’t wanna hold to excessive shame. We don’t want to continuously feel bad about ourselves, but when we can intro respect and look at our patterns and say, oh, I was a bit mean I was a bit harsh there, or I did judge, or I was impatient. We learn the lessons and then we can let go and move forward.
Kimberly: 32:09 And we self correct. So we don’t wanna keep the shame. And this is an important part of in the new book, the practice of the sun moon practice. This is in the chapter. You are whole, which I highly recommend you read or read the whole book, please. But this is chapter six, which starts on page six. It’s about releasing shame from the past, but in the moment, in the current day to day life, it’s important that we see what we’ve done. If it’s out of alignment with our character out of our truth, remember this is about how do we really come into our fullest power and potential. And we need to see some of the darkness that’s in all of us. And then we shed light on it with introspection, and then we move forward into self-correction into the light.
Kimberly: 32:56 And modesty goes a bit there into talking about really honoring our bodies and the ways in which we express ourselves. So of course, this is very counter-cultural right now, and this is very personal. We live in a world where there’s a lot of, there’s a lot that’s out there, right? So to speak, there’s a lot out there, especially on social media, um, just showing a lot of the body, just showing a lot of our lives. And I would invite you to really sit with this about what feels personally good to you. And where I sit with this personally is, you know, my intention.
Kimberly: 33:46 So if it’s really about sharing an experience, I I’m in Hawaii sometimes. So, you know, sometimes there’ll be a picture of me in a bikini and it’s, you know, really about that experience. And it feels really vibrant and I like to share, but other times I don’t really wanna share everything, right. Or if you feel yourself, this pressure of, oh, I really feel like I have to share my body. I don’t really want to, but you know, I get more likes or I get more attention when I do this, but deep down, it doesn’t sit right in your heart or you’re into a, it’s okay to, to take back your power because your power will rise a hundred fold. In other ways, Yogananda goes on to say here, the purity of modesty will attract its own virtuous kind. So it’s important to stay truthful, important to self reflect and to keep moving back to our centeredness and to our absolute truth, which comes from within. And we will be more in tune with that truth, the more, and the more that we continue to meditate.
#8. Lack of conceit and being free from the sense of self importance
Kimberly: 35:02 So the last quality I would like to discuss today is lack of conceit, which is, and is Yoda says only he who is free from the sense of self importance becomes richer and richer and spirituality until he is one with God. So what this means spiritually, one with universe, one with all, this is where the power is when we are not in our own little isolated world, but we are connected. We are in the field. You know, quantum physics teaches about this great gravitational field. The more we’re aligned, the more power that we have in the truest sense, the more power to create the abundance of love and resources and opportunities and everything that we want. We need to step into that flow. And that means that we become increasingly more humble. It means that we recognize that no one ultimately is more important than anyone else.
Kimberly: 36:13 We are all equal. We all have a different role to play a different, unique energy, but nobody is better than anybody else. Again, the lie, the, the mistruth that we’re taught is in society is that somehow we think that, you know, really famous people are high political leaders or high, you know, CEOs of companies or whatever it is are somehow better, or, you know, just deserve more. And it’s actually not true underneath. First of all, we don’t know the chaos that’s going on underneath anyone’s life. That we’re all on this journey between darkness and light, we’re on this journey to come back to the light. And so we need to go past the surface and the externals, all the stuff that you can see on paper, it doesn’t ultimately matter. And so in that way, we start to come back to this very important quality of, of conceit, lack of self importance and the growth of humility, which is a very important quality in order to reach our, our soul potential. So you can sit with that one and just see ways in which you know, whether it’s within yourself, but so in society, or you tend to think, you know, lesser than, or greater than with people coming back to, oh, as I see the equality in myself and others, as I become more humble, then I honor everyone more and more equally. So I’ll end the show there today.
