Hello Kimberly. My daughter is a devoted follower of the food plan. She has anorexia and is trying to put on weight. Since a lot of the food is low calorie (fruits/veg) and bulky (fills you up) this is a problem. She tries to include nut butter, protein powder or avocado at every meal. Can you give some advise to people who need to gain 20 to 30 pounds. Note: she does have medical care, but does not like the food plans they recommend. She likes eating the Kimberly Snyder way.

Hello to my Worried mother follower and thanks for your guestion. There are some healthy ways you can add weight without compromising your health. The first is simply to eat more. While I’m not a big fan of focusing on calories, in general, adding more fuel, in the form of more dense foods, will likely help you gain weight. You can also add more nuts and seeds (though don’t go overboard on the fat so much that you feel sluggish), more avocado, more gluten-free grains/starches like quinoa and brown rice. Raw fruits and vegetables tend to be less dense, and full of fiber and water, and therefore less likely to add weight. Finally, you can add some protein in the form of a vegan protein supplement, to add a little more fat and muscle mass. It’s really about eating more of the Beauty Foods, if this is what your daughter wants to stick with. It’s certainly healthy for her – she just needs to eat more of it. As always, I encourage you to talk with your Health Care Practitioner and share the Beauty Detox routine with them. I’m sure they will see it’s a healthy lifestyle and would agree that she needs to consume more. Sending lots of love and support to you both! 😉
