This week’s topic is: Back to Basics: Four Cornerstone Tips to Support Your Overall Health and Wellness
Here we are in spring and you’re probably starting to feel a little bit of stirring inside of you. A little bit of shift of energy. Just seeing what’s going on in nature and the collective around us, as we are intrinsically connected to nature. You may notice the buds starting to sprout. There’s more greenery, there’s new smells in the air. There’s just more aliveness all around. And so it’s really important that we tune into this environmental shift around us so we can modify our self-care practices across our four cornerstones to really continue to support ourselves into greater vitality and feeling good.
Feeling good is about feeling connected to your true self and feeling a deeper sense of flow that comes from that deep sense of connection. And today, we’re going to get into all of this which again includes our food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth.
I’m so excited to get back to some real practical tips today. Big change in our lives come from daily small steps that we continue to implement consistently on a daily basis. That’s really what our philosophy is based on making changes in our lives from the inside out, from small steps that we continue to make consistently.

Kimberly: 00:01 Hi, loves and welcome back to our Thursday, Q&A podcast where our topic today is Back to Basics: Four Cornerstone Tips to Support Your Overall Health and Wellness. So here we are in spring, and you’re probably starting to feel a little bit of stirring inside of you. A little bit of shift of energy. This is in you, if you are in the Northern hemisphere, of course, and just seeing what’s going on in the nature and the collective around us, which we are, of course, part of we are intrinsically connected to nature. So you may notice the buds starting to sprout. There’s more greenery, there’s new smells in the air. There’s just more aliveness a all around. And so it’s really important that we tune into this environmental shift around us so we can modify our self-care practices across our four cornerstones to really continue to support ourselves into greater vitality and feeling good, which we define here.
Kimberly: 00:58 Of course, the name of our podcast, feeling good is about feeling connected to your true self and feeling a deeper sense of flow that comes from that deep sense of connection. So we’re gonna get into all of this today across our cornerstones, which again, our food body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. Our hour is in our wholeness when we can show up feeling full and complete and whole in this moment in tune with our unique energy and the true self inside of each and every single one of us. And it’s where we start to move away from lack, anxiety, feelings of competition, feelings of not being good enough, which wear us down. And of course, stress our systems create low-grade inflammation throughout our bodies and minds, and just continue to keep us playing small and not filling our best. So we wanna tune into our wholeness, which is where our power is, where we move away from a fragmented approach to health and us.
Kimberly: 02:04 And we really start to understand that as we nurture ourselves in this whole, um, total way, we always feel the best. We always get the best results. And then the joy in the bliss, which builds inside of us continues to be reflected back at us in the ways that we create and continue to co-create in our lives, our relationships become more healthy. We’re able to create more of our goals and dreams and see our intentions play out in the world and our health and our vitality grow. And life just feels more fulfilling and more of the peaceful flowing vibe that we all want. So I’m so excited to get back into some real practical tips today, big change in our lives come from daily small steps that we continue to implement consistently on a daily basis. So that’s really what our philosophy is based in making changes in our lives from the inside out, from small steps that we continue to make consistently.

Question #1 around the topic of: Back to Basics: Four Cornerstone Tips to Support Your Overall Health and Wellness: Hi! Wondering if you have any smoothie suggestions to eat before sunrise in Ramadan. No eating or drinking until sunset so ideally something filling and hydrating.
Kimberly: 05:56 So you can have this whole additional, um, system as well. All right, all this being said, I’m very, very excited for our, um, show today, because I think it’s really important to balance philosophy, always with PR practical tips and tools and what we can do on a daily basis. So let’s just dive right in. The first question comes from Sarah, who did not give a location, but wherever you are Sarah with no H sending you so much love and thank you for being a part of our community and you write hi. I’m wondering if you have any smooth suggestions to eat before sunrise in Ramadan, no eating or drinking until sunset. So ideally something filling and hydrating. Sarah, thank you so much for your question. And I believe I know Ramadan is coming up in early April, so, you know, I know this is a, um, this is something that many, many people partake in.
Kimberly: 07:00 So of course we need some practical tools around this. It is so important to hydrate yes, as much as you can before the sunrise. So I would suggest a Power Protein Smoothie even made with a base of, um, well, there’s two things here. Um, if you can drink coconut water as you’re making your smoothie, I don’t know. You can back in that early in the morning, I would do that. I would make a power protein smoothie just because you’re gonna have that energy for longer in the day. Um, it depends like I come from my perspective, right? If you don’t, if you have kids, if you need to run after, you know, um, kids like things are going on, I would, I would do a power protein smoothie myself with sprouts in it. So you’re getting that raw green element, but you have the vegan protein powder, the chia seeds, which are healthy fats to give you that sustained energy long into the day.
Kimberly: 08:03 Now, if you really want to experience the lightness of Ramadan, uh, you could also alternatively have the Glowing Green Smoothie® perhaps, um, along with coconut water, which would also give you, you sustained energy in the fiber of the vegetables. Of course, it wouldn’t be as heavy as the power protein smoothie, but you would digest that and you would have this lightness through the day. So I know that Ramadan goes, um, you know, for, for several weeks, I believe, is it, um, 40 days or 30 days? I can’t remember exactly, but you can experiment in the beginning, make sure where it may be a bit more difficult and your body is used to heavier foods. You could start with a Power Protein Smoothie in the morning, and then as Ramadan continues, you could, you could move to the, to the coconut water and the Glowing Green Smoothie® as well.
Kimberly: 09:00 So see how your body does, but you have the right idea, Sarah, that smoothies are great for that sustained energy. And I would also expand this question to anyone that is looking to, um, you know, there’s a period where you can’t eat a healthy meal. Let’s say you’re gonna be out for a while, or you’re taking your child to a, um, theme park or the park, or, you know, any time where it’s hard to sit down and eat something really healthy. I do recommend loading up on smoothies. You know, you’re driving there beforehand, even during if it’s possible, depending where you are as a busy mom, myself, I can say that the glow and green smoothie and the power protein smoothie are very regular staples, glow, and green smoothie, daily power protein smoothie goes in and out definitely daily when I’m pregnant and my postpartum period, you know, and now it it’ll come back more, I think a little bit now that it’s getting hotter out.
Kimberly: 10:00 So it’s a great, important tool for us to have. If you’re about to go into a log zoom meeting, for instance, at work, or you just wanna jam out on your computer and not be distracted, remember that smoothies are in effect predigested because they are blended it in a blender. So we’ve broken down the, the denseness. They can go into your body. It, it just, um, is a, is a wonderful way to uptake nutrients. So rely on smoothies this spring. And please, if you need any smoothie ideas, recipes, tips, please be sure to check out the many smoothie recipes that we have over at mysolluna.com for smoothie inspo. So thank you so much, Sarah, let me know how you do as Ramadan continues, sending you so much love and again, so grateful that you’re part of our community.
Question #2 around the topic of: Back to Basics: Four Cornerstone Tips to Support Your Overall Health and Wellness: The Gua Sha is a recent trending beauty tool used to help with improving circulation, among other things. What is your opinion on the use of Gua Shas and do you recommend specific facial oils when using the Gua Sha?
Kimberly: 10:59 All right, let’s get to our next question, which comes from Jessica who lives in New York. Hello, my love. Thank you for being part of our community. Thank you for being here and sending you so much love to the east coast, which hopefully is getting warmer now as a former new Yorker. I know how the end of winter can feel like it trails on for a very long time. So sending you warm thoughts and warm love, and you write the Guha is a recent trending beauty tool used to help with improving circulation among other things. What is your opinion on the use of Guha? And do you recommend specific facial oils when using the Guha? Thank God. Believe I am saying that correctly, I believe. Um, so thank you so much again, my love for your question and this, uh, this is part of body, our body, cornerstone, of course, anything related to the body beyond, um, beyond food. So anytime we’re working with the skin, which is our largest organ, um, will definitely involve body.
Kimberly: 12:08 So I think that all these beauty tools, um, I GU Shaw, which almost looks like a little rake, a little stone or the rollers, um, which are, uh, aimed towards improving circulation and moving Chi, um, energy and, uh, relieving stagnation are, is beneficial, right? I’ve been talking about dry brushing for many years, which is along similar lines of this firm, bristled brush, helping to improve circulation and also move along, um, toxins in your lymphatic system. So promoting drainage and just more cleansing. So I think all of this is really, um, you know, it can be very now the Guha technique, um, really comes from traditional Chinese medicine. And what I have seen of it is that it’s very, uh, it can be quite rigorous and it can make your skin quite red. So it’s, it involves, um, some scraping, it involves, you know, uh, definitely some, some pressure.
Kimberly: 13:17 And so you can go to a spa and you can, um, you know, get this done. You can also of course get the tool and do it yourself. I have not specifically tried Guha, but I do have different rollers and where I, I, you know, where I lay in this, my, where my perspective lies in this is that I think, you know, it’s not a one size fits all. I think different tools can be beneficial for different people. I do a hundred percent believe in facial massage and circulation. I tend to prefer using my fingers. So when I’m putting on mysolluna.com skin care, I really love our, of vitamin see serum and our feel good moisturizer. Of course, I spend a little bit of time rubbing my skin in, you know, a circular pattern. Um, I like to press on the different Nies, which are different energy, um, places like similarly to where, uh, there’s, uh, ACU puncture points, there’s little centers in your face, according to ARVE medicine, uh, some located on the inner rim of your eyebrow, for instance, um, underneath your nose.
Kimberly: 14:26 So I do a little bit of a facial massage myself. Every time I put skincare on, which is morning and evening, and it feels really good to me. I’m a more, um, you know, I’m a, I’m a simple girl, so I don’t always reach for specific tools. Like I said, I have the rollers, but I don’t use them all the time. If I’m totally honest, sometimes it feels nice. It feels like a treat, but I just like to do that massage. Um, and then I move on with my day. I also do tongue scraping often in the mornings. So, you know what I would say here Jessica is you experiment with different things that feel good to your skin. Um, overall things like massage, a Bianca, not just on your face, but your full body, dry brushing, I think are really important to your whole emphatic system.
Kimberly: 15:11 You know, try facial massage or facial acupuncture or the Guha or all these tools, see what works for your skin, but definitely massage and circulation, boosting tools are, are, are beneficial. And I think will help with, you know, relieving stagnation and just improving radiance and vitality in your, in your face. And this of course needs to be combined with the other cornerstones, um, stress shows up on your face, right? And lifestyle like not sleeping well, not eating well, eating too much sugar, eating clogging foods like dairy, excessive meat. It all shows on your face. So if we wanna have great skin, this is a perfect example of where taking the wider cornerstone approach will give us what we want that glowing, beautiful TA smooth skin. Um, so yeah, any sort of massage and anything like that’s gonna be beneficial. So that’s, that’s my take. Let me know how you do my love. Thank you for being here and keep in touch with us.
Break
Kimberly: All right. Loves. We’re gonna take a short break. And when we come back, we have two more are questions on this important topic of back to basics and tips on the four cornerstones.
Kimberly: 16:27 All right, loves we’re back from our break. And we have two more questions for you on this very important topic of daily tips around our cornerstones. We need to implement, we need to live our beliefs so often we can hear things. It sounds nice. It sounds exciting. We, we had the best intentions, but again, it’s about taking our energy and moving it forward. Small daily steps. We’re starting to utilize energy and project it out into the world. And it really does make such a difference. These little steps before, you know it, you start to feel a different flow. You start to feel more intuition. You start to feel more aligned and then everything just starts to connect over time. So I’m not a, you, you know, I’m not a proponent of just a big overhaul overnight and leaving everything behind and thinking everything has to be all or nothing.
Question #3 around the topic of: Back to Basics: Four Cornerstone Tips to Support Your Overall Health and Wellness: How would you advise someone whose full purpose was almost realized- helping in health care as well as both recharging and helping with the environment thru volunteering leading groups on my days off- is being challenged by potential schedule changes after a decade of the same schedule at work? I feel drained, worrying and feeling like this might be my last chance to shine fully in both areas that are usually so fulfilling to me.
Kimberly: 17:26 It’s these little tweaks, these little shifts that keep aligning us back to center. And then we start to strengthen our lifestyle. We strengthen our energy and then we’re able to make improvements and keep moving forward. All right. Our next question comes from Diana, who lives in Costa Mesa? Hello, my Southern California neighbor and sister. I’m so glad you’re here. Part of our community, sending you a hug nearby because we’re in the same area. And thank you so much for submitting a question you, right. How would you advise someone who’s full purpose was almost realized helping in healthcare as both, as well as both recharging and helping with the VI environment through volunteering, leading groups on my days off is being challenged by potential schedule changes after a decade of the same schedule at work, I feel drained, worrying and feeling like this might be my last chance to shine fully in both areas that are usually so fulfilling to me.
Kimberly: 18:30 So Diana, thank you so much. My love for your question. Thank you so much for reaching out and thank you for being you being a beautiful light and being part of our community. So I love this question and it’s interesting because we just literally, um, are wrapping up our month in the Solluna Circle of March, where our top topic, our theme this month was purpose and really realizing our purpose. So we’ll share a little bit here about that and, and it relates to your question. So the way that I view purpose and the way I, I write about it in the new book, you know, more than you think you are in the way that Paramahansa Yogananda, the great yoga guru has explained purpose, which drawn from the VA texts from the ancient texts is that we are all here as unique beings of spirit and spirit individualized inside of us creating unique beings, which therefore have a unique purpose.
Kimberly: 19:30 So purpose can be seen as the uniting of our unique gifts, our unique ways of doing things in the world that no one else can do exactly the way that we can. We have a unique genetic energetic construction. So even if 10 people make the same recipe, for example, it’s gonna always come out of little bit differently. We all have a different viewpoint. We have a different way of creating. So it’s uniting the gifts with how do we serve the collective? How can we help? How can we benefit? How can we raise the light? How can we bring our gifts and uniqueness out into the world in a way to benefit the whole? And so I would say Diana, that you have been helping in healthcare. You’ve also been doing this beautiful environmental volunteering. So in that way, you’ve seen your energy flow through you’re taking your unique gifts and then you’re flowing it through, into these specific ways and you’re helping people, right.
Kimberly: 20:37 And you’re expanding that in the world. And that’s so beautiful. I will also say though, that purpose is nonspecific. It expands and it becomes more simple as we clarify it and we distill it down. So we could say, you know, or I’ll use myself as an example. You know, I used to say, well, and my purpose is helping people be healthier and, um, you know, eat healthier. And then the, you know, they’ll live better lives. And then I started going, huh. But you know, I don’t wanna, you know, it’s more than food. I gotta tell, you know, I gotta talk about all this other stuff. And I was like, well, maybe it’s lifestyle. But then I was like, oh, but you know, really wanna teach people about the true self, the core of the teachings that I’ve helped me the most, the meditation. So now where I stand is a much simple, my purpose is to connect to the true self and to teach other people how to do the same and to bring forth the peace and the bliss that comes from that.
Kimberly: 21:37 And so the true self is who is our uniqueness. And so connecting to that comes from these four cornerstones. It comes from food, comes from body, emotional wellbeing, spiritual. So I can be doing different things. I can be teaching a food recipe. I can be teaching a meditation or sharing a personal story on Instagram about how I overcame grief or whatever. And it’s always that I’m letting my purpose flow through from my gifts or my ways of commun into the intention of supporting. So it becomes a broader thing. So what I’m, I’m telling you all this Diana, because we can’t control specific circumstances, the specific scheduled changed, but something like that is something that can never, you know, should never be able to suppress Diana’s per we adapt to life and we shift and we pivot, and maybe there’s a new schedule. Maybe there’s another outlet or a different way that your purpose will come through or something will come of this, or you’ll direct it in a different channel or whatever it is.
Kimberly: 22:42 But your purpose Diana is always there, right? So we can shift, we can change. We can do something that seems very different on the surface, but let’s just say Diana’s purpose is to bring love and kindness and to others and to other people and to help, um, boost the health of others in the environment. Again, think about all the infinite ways you can do that. Moment to moment. Diana’s showing up in the fullness of her energy and her love and her kind. She can do that at work. She can do that if there’s a different schedule and she’s in a different environment or wherever it is. So I encourage you Diana to take a broader look at your purpose, to sit with this, um, and to see that it can flow through you in infinite ways. So to please do not get stuck on an external strength, like schedule the strength and resilience inside of you can come up with a creative solution, a different way to flow things, and it will continue to flow. It may look a little bit differently, but it can continue to flow and expand from inside of you out. So I encourage you to take a look and, um, please chapter three, in the new book, you are a warrior. There’s a lot of information about clarifying your Warrior’s purpose that I explain there, that I would also encourage you to read and to, um, apply to your life. So thank you so much, sister, for being with us, keep in touch with me and let me know how you do.
Question #4 around the topic of: Back to Basics: Four Cornerstone Tips to Support Your Overall Health and Wellness: I’ve been following you for a long time and I really respect your knowledge. Just started your skin care regimen. On a totally separate note…wondering if you ever had any experience with infrared saunas? I’ve heard really good things about them and also really bad. Respect your opinions and thoughts. I know you’re very busy but if you have any thoughts or advice to share? Appreciate your time and thoughts! Thanks so much!
Kimberly: 24:11 All right. So our next and final question comes from Kristen, Kristen, with a sea and Kristen did not leave a location. So wherever you are, my love Kristen, with a sea sending you lots of love and lots of gratitude for you being part of our community. And you write, I’ve been following you for a long time, and I really respect your knowledge. I just started your skincare regimen on a totally separate note. I’m wondering if you have ever had any experience with infrared saunas. I have a really good things about them and also really bad. I respect your opinion and thoughts. I know you’re really busy, but can you have, can you share your advice? Thank you so much, Kristin, thank you so much for your question. I am busy, but so is everyone else, right? So I am here. I love this question. I love all the questions.
Kimberly: 25:01 So thank you for asking me and please never be shy. Please, always keep the questions coming. My loves, because again, I am very passionate about sharing and I think that’s why we’re here. And that’s really the intention of the show. So going, um, to what we’re talking about here, infrared saunas, I have had a long history of experience with infrared saunas. Um, and there was a time a few years ago. I was, I was on set actually for Avengers two. I believe it was that we were shooting in Seoul, Korea for a few weeks. And it was incredible to witness in other parts of the world, such as Korea, where infrared saunas are, um, a prevalent part of, of spas and even gyms I saw and just the lifestyle. So infrared saunas, um, are different than regular dry saunas. I prefer them a lot more regular saunas can feel dehydrating to me and to my skin.
Kimberly: 26:05 Whereas infrared has the ability to penetrate deeper down and to help release potentially release toxins and allow those toxins to come out through your sweat and also through your urine. So it’s a great way of helping to potentially eliminate ameliorate pain and stiffness and soreness. And again, through the, through the deeper heat, the penetrative heat allow toxins to actually be released from your body. So I’m a big fan myself. We have a, uh, my husband, you know, had one before we met a, a, a larger sauna that, um, we get into it’s it seats for people. And also, uh, that takes up space though. I’m gonna be honest, you know, it’s gonna take up space in your home and it’s, you know, it’s a, it’s a bigger cost, but what I do recommend, if you want thing that can be put away something that’s more convenient is an infrared sauna blanket that you can wrap yourself up in and, you know, just get nice and cozy and fold it up afterwards.
Kimberly: 27:16 And I have found it to be very relaxing and I listen to music and I sweat and just feels like a nice detox at the end of the day. And even though the weather is getting warmer, this is according to Aveta the real season to cleanse. We wanna cleanse that stagnation from winter. This is the season of Puncha karma. This is the season for raw food. So please check out the show notes. And mysolluna.com will link to a code. We have actually for infrared, the infrared sauna blanket that I like for a discount, um, it’s by a brand called higher dose. And I like it very much. So please head over to the show notes, to get more information about that and a tool you can use year round. Again, it’s not just, we, we tend to go to sauna, of course, when it’s freezing out, but in the spring or any time of year, we wanna keep our body cleansed of toxins and heavy metals and infrared saunas can be a really great tool for that.
Thought of the Week
Kimberly: 28:15 So check it out for yourself, my love and thank you so much for being part of our community. All right, before we close our show, I want to leave you with a of the week. This one comes from page 72 of the new book. As we continue to journey towards living life from the True Self and continue with our meditations and practice, we embody more of the high-vibration qualities associated with enlightenment: love, peace, joy. So isn’t that the real goal of everything we’re seeking the end goal is not a skinny body or a fit body. The end goal is not a perfect diet. The end goal is the feelings fulfillment, deep, grounded, peace and bless.
