This is a very interesting time right now. We are mostly sheltered at home and we are not able to do the same sorts of activities and get togethers that we may be used to. In a positive light, it’s a great time for self-care and spending some time with yourself and tuning into your body.
As we’ll get into today’s show, there’s still a lot of wonderful practices and ways to move your body. Ways to keep your spirits up, your immunity, your digestion and your circulation, even while you’re home. I think this is a time of shifting where we have to really go in a different direction.
We are all strong and resilient and we have that inside of us. We can fall back on that and try to stay as positive as possible. See this as a real opportunity to go deeper within ourselves. This can be seen as a really precious time, time we don’t usually have. Usually, we’re commuting and running around and running errands all the time. There is an opportunity right now and I want to get into that today in our show.

We have our amazing Katelyn on the line with us. How you doing Kay? I know you just moved in the middle of this whole corona time and you’ve been feeling a little bit under the weather. So how are things going for you? I know I keep using the word interesting because I don’t want to say it’s bad or difficult and label it that way, but it’s definitely an interesting time, isn’t it?
Katelyn Rush: Yes, it certainly is interesting, especially going through an out of state move. Me and my husband moved down to Virginia Beach just last week and it has been a little bit crazy trying to get supplies and just the shifts of everything while also being a little bit under the weather. But yeah, I’m super grateful for this time together to talk and come together in a time of isolation, especially here now. I don’t have any new friends and I can’t go out and try new places. So I’m especially grateful for the time we get to have with our community to come together and not feel alone.
Kimberly Snyder: It almost feels like so much has been stripped away and the things that we thought were really important or things that we thought we had to do all the time, all of that that’s taken away, Kay, and we’re left with essential. FaceTimeing with loved ones and sitting with ourselves and hopefully having some time to meditate. It’s really interesting because in our lifetimes, I don’t think we’ve ever had this sort of experience where we are really… 9/11 was a short period, depending where you lived, where maybe you did stay home more obviously. Obviously, this is very different. This is going on for weeks and weeks. So with everything stripped away, what’s left?
Katelyn Rush: Right.
Kimberly Snyder: I keep thinking about this parable from the Bible about building your house on sand versus rock. Eckhart Tolle was giving a lecture. He doesn’t really reference the Bible much. I don’t either, but it’s such a beautiful parable for this time when it’s… If we’re built on sand, everything feels very shaky. Everything can feel very fearful and really scary right now. We tune into the news and things are constantly shifting and changing, but if we build our house, we build our sense of security in self, on a deeper foundation, on the rock, then we know inside of ourselves there is a deep strength. There is a sanctuary that all of us have inside of us. So if the outside world is changing and feels uncertain, we can still rely on that center inside of us.
Kimberly Snyder: I just want to encourage you Beauties to take advantage. We have free guided meditations to look out for. I think this is a really, as I said, a great opportunity to take advantage. So I want to mention that before we dive in and get into our topic today, which I think is really interesting because it’s about keeping ourselves healthy, keeping circulation up with movement. Even though most of us, our gyms are, probably all of us at this point, gyms are closed, yoga studios are closed, how are we able to move and still stay healthy in this time? Let’s get into that, Kay.
Question 1: With COVID-19 at our doorstep, do you have any suggestions on how to reduce getting sick and how we can still stay active while sheltering in place?
Katelyn Rush: Yes, let’s dive in. So we have Megan living in New York. With COVID-19 at our doorstep, do you have any suggestions on how to reduce getting sick and how we can still stay active while sheltering in place?
Kimberly Snyder: Megan, I send you a huge hug out in New York. I know New York is very affected by the virus right now. Anxiety is probably very high there. I was there a few weeks ago, Kay, remember when we were there, doing circles?
Katelyn Rush: Surreal, just a month ago.
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah, just literally a month ago, we were having groups of 70 people and hanging out in our little spaces together. I was hunting a million people. So in places especially that are crowded like New York and in apartment buildings, I know that there can be an energy of a lot of fear in the air. So first of all, I would encourage you, Megan, to take the necessary steps, all the things that the CDC has recommended; social distancing, staying home as much as possible, washing your hands, using wipes, only going to the grocery store if you need to. I’m sure there’s a lot of different food delivery options. Then, just having the delivery people leave it at your apartment door and then washing everything really well. Those are the standard recommendation steps. Along with that, I still, as I mentioned earlier, really encourage you to go deep now into the cornerstones.
Kimberly Snyder: So number one is food. Following the recipes, cooking for yourself, trying… We have so many recipes over at our site and taking advantage of those food deliveries when you can, drinking lots of hot water with lemon, making GGS, so on and so forth. Well, body perspective, keeping yourself moving. So it’s really the theme here of our show, so I’ll get into in just a moment, but third, I just want to cover. Emotional well being. Stay connected to community. We’re doing an Instagram Live every day. We’re doing a live Solluna Circle from 12:00 to 12:30 Pacific Standard Time, just so you guys know so I can support you guys, where I’ll be taking live questions. We’ll cover different aspects of the lifestyle. We’ll end with a meditation every day. So stay connected, journal your feelings, let the fear, feel it, and then let it go through. Try not to bottle things up, which is unhealthy and can result in insomnia and food cravings and all sorts of things.
Kimberly Snyder: Lastly, I would say to take that time to meditate and to be still in the middle of the chaos, just trying to find your center from deep inside of you. Now back to number two with the body and movement. It is a really important time to stay moving for our spirits, for our brain, for our circulation, for so many different aspects. And one of the best ways to do that is with the in home yoga practice. And if you have a mat, Megan, I definitely recommend rolling it out and seeing what moves, what works for you. So I really like free flow movement, where I roll out my mat, and I just sort of move organically, and I see what parts of my body need to be stretched out and opened up. I have a lot of hip pain right now, because I’m seven and a half months pregnant, so I do a lot of sort of stretching and things of that nature.
Kimberly Snyder: But if you feel like you need to get out some energy, you could do a bunch of Surya Namaskars, you could do a bunch of Warriors, you could check out different videos on YouTube. There’s a bunch of series. There’s a lot of different studios right now that are streaming classes. I think it’s one of the best ways to move, not just from a cardiovascular standpoint, but I to open up your spine, and to get all that energy flowing, to get some heart openings in, just back bends, things that are really, really great for releasing tension and stuck up emotions. So I really encourage that. I also would encourage you to bundle up and go for walks. Even though we are stuck inside largely, it’s important to get outside. Of course, I encourage you to do this in a safe way. It totally depends where you live in New York. My friend Ylva lives close to the West Side Highway, so she’s been doing bike rides, and walking, and she’s able to keep a safe distance from other people.
Kimberly Snyder: So depending where you live in New York or anyone listening to this, I’ve been going for a lot of different walks in my neighborhood. And luckily, where we live, here on the West Side, there’s some really wide open spaces for hikes. So I’ll take Bubby out in the four by four stroller. Just sometimes he naps, and I keep him covered, and we don’t get anywhere near anyone. We actually don’t really see that many people at all, but it’s nice and it’s important for psychology to get out and to go walking. So between at home yoga practice and walking, I think those are some of the most powerful ways we can keep moving. So no, we’re not going to walk inside a mall. No, we’re not going to go in a gym, but you can keep your body flowing and going. What have you been doing Kay? Have you been doing walks in your neighborhood too?
Katelyn Rush: Yeah, I was going to add, it’s so important. For me, I was staying in for days on end with unpacking and I hadn’t really been doing any type of exercising, and my brain and like my mood were not even functioning great, so I did start getting outside. We only live about two miles from the beach front. So same thing, just staying away from… I actually live in a complex, there’s like 800 units. So there’s a lot of people, but-
Kimberly Snyder: Oh, wow.
Katelyn Rush: … people aren’t out at the same time and you can still practice distancing from them. So we have been able to get to the beach front and do some jogs, and walks, and just be outside, and enjoy getting some sun on my skin. I have a little porch at my new apartment, that I can sit outside at least and get fresh air out there as well. And just trying to do some stretching. I was actually considering… I’ve never really been into yoga, as you know, I’ve tried, and I tend to always be the more intense working out, but I was actually even just thinking this morning would be nice to get up and do some cat cows or some stretching. I just feel kind of stagnant from sitting so much. Because I normally, I’m used to exercising pretty heavily and then just with the transition, I haven’t been. so I think those are great tips. Just think out of the box of how maybe you normally would do something.
Kimberly Snyder: Mm-hmm (affirmative). Mm-hmm (affirmative). And when you were saying that Kay, it’s so great to be open to all forms of movement right now, even though you may be used to doing your boot camp workout, or your crossfit, to try something new. Like you were saying Kay, like there are ways to do dance classes online. I know some of my mom friends are streaming music classes in for their kids. It’s an opportunity to try new things, and-
Katelyn Rush: 100%.
Kimberly Snyder: … it also triggered me to talk about movement in the body. So while we think about movement as exercise, it’s important to keep flow going, to keep our lymphatic system, moving lymph, as much as possible. So if there was ever a time to devote a couple of minutes a day to dry brushing, if you don’t have one, you can order one online it could come in a few days, just to help move your lymph. Moving the brush up towards your heart, to do self massage, to make sure you’re taking detoxing, you are going to the bathroom every day. If things are stagnant inside your body, it becomes a more susceptible breeding ground. And we want to stay as clean and light as possible. So again, dry brushing, self massage, detoxing, do what you can to move the fluids in the matter inside your body, drink a lot of water. And that’s a really important way to avoid getting sick, and just to really keep your vitality up at its optimum level.
Katelyn Rush: Such good tips, especially as we can get in our own heads, and some people aren’t used to having as much time, or sitting with themselves, or things-
Kimberly Snyder: Right.
Katelyn Rush: … being taken away. To try to change our perspective. I know, I try to stay positive. At times I can get into negative spaces. But just to use today’s show, as Kimberly mentioned, as looking for opportunities where you can capitalize on things that you do have access to, or that you can do, or be grateful for whatever you can find in your life at this time.
Kimberly Snyder: Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Question 2: Is it okay to exercise when I have a cold? I feel like I have the energy, but I don’t want to make it worse.
Katelyn Rush: All right. We have another question from Abby, living in Texas. Is it okay to exercise when I have a cold? I feel like I have the energy, but I don’t want to make it worse.
Kimberly Snyder: Abby, sending you lots of love out there in Texas. Thank you so much for your question. So it is amazing how many of us have colds and little coughs? And I know Kay, you have something. I have a little tickle in my throat.
Katelyn Rush: Yeah.
Kimberly Snyder: I think as a collective, we’re all so connected, that we are tuned in to what’s going on. And just by watching the news sometimes, and being aware of COVID-19, and the respiratory conditions out there, it affects us all. So I don’t usually ever get any sort of little tickle or called and I do have one now. So I think that this is really… I think that this is really common. So I just want make sure you know that everybody knows that, that, like collectively, we’re experiencing something on a global level and we feel it in our bodies. So a lot of us are experiencing a little bit of symptoms right now.
Kimberly Snyder: So I would say Abby, you really want to listen to your body. And sometimes if we have a little bit of sickness, but we have some fresh air, and a little bit of circulation, and we’re still eating well, we’re drinking ginger-lemon tea, keeping our immunity up, I feel really good exercising through a little cold. If your body is telling you that you need to rest, and you need to sleep, and you need to lie down, I would definitely listen to that as well. So it’s really individual and I think this is where we need to tune in to our bodies. Sometimes we push, push, push, and I do that myself, I think, “Oh my gosh. I’m so used to, I have to walk a certain amount of miles a day. I need to fit all this in when Bubby’s at school.” And my body may be saying, “I don’t want to walk up that hill right now, I don’t want to do that.”
Kimberly Snyder: Now, I’m really listening to my body more, because my hips hurt so much, that I’m really avoiding hills at the moment. But on an everyday basis, when we’re in that mode of our normal, everyday schedule, we don’t always listen. So this is an amazing opportunity, because none of us are on our normal schedules, to actually sit back and to say, “Hey body, would What do you feel today? Do you want to go for a walk?” Just the way I say that you have to pause and ask your body, “What do you want to eat on the menu,” when we were eating restaurants, “What do I need right now?” To sit back and to say, “Oh, what feels good to me?” It may be a gentle yoga practice, it may be moving your spine, it may be doing a bike ride, it may be getting outside and getting some fresh air, or it maybe laying down and resting.
Kimberly Snyder: So Abby, and anyone listening to this, I definitely encourage you to use this time to tune into your body. And there’s no right answer, there’s no wrong answer. If you’re going against your body’s messaging, and you push yourself to do a hard workout when you are rundown, then you can make it worse. But I find that if you listen to your body, it will always steer you in the right direction.
Katelyn Rush: That’s so true. I was laughing to myself as you were talking, because me and my husband were having this conversation the other day. He’s like, “Why don’t you just go for a run and sweat it out? You’ve been sick for so long.” And I got mad, and grumpy back. And I was like, “I don’t want to go for a run, that’s not how I recover.” And so then maybe like four or five days later, I went for my first jog, but like he was out… When he’s sick, he’s out, sweating it out. So everybody is different.
Kimberly Snyder: Right.
Katelyn Rush: I do agree with you, where you kind of just have to listen to how you feel. And then you know, one day you might feel better or worse, but I couldn’t agree more. That definitely hit me, when you were talking about it. Because it can feel like when somebody’s telling you something, I was like, “No, I want to feel like I’m not doing something right.” Like, I felt like I should be working out, because he was telling me to.
Kimberly Snyder: Right.
Katelyn Rush: And where I just had to really hunker down and be like, “No, I’m not ready. I’m just going to stay in for the time being.”
Kimberly Snyder: Well, then it’s sort of like if someone tries to tell you how to eat. It never feels good when somebody else, whether it’s your best friend or husband or whoever, tells you. So I think it’s really important to listen to yourself and to have that really clear connection with your own voice, your own body because then it’s easier for it to roll off your back when someone says something to you. I know, it’s unrelated, but with being a mother. I didn’t feel connected to reading all these books. I got all these books, but I was like, “No, I actually…” I didn’t know what kind of mother I was going to be until I had Bubby. Then I felt a really clear, instinctual voice inside of me. When it came time to on demand breastfeeding, we recently weaned.
Kimberly Snyder: We actually did nurse for a really long time and co sleeping and all these different topics. People have all sorts of ideas and there’s so many different ways to mother, just like anything else. But I felt so connected to my own voice that it didn’t really bother me when people had all different opinions as much, I just sort of tuned it out. So again, I think the more connected we are with ourselves and to our bodies right now, we know we’re strong, we know that we’re resilient. We know we’re doing as much as we can do. I encourage you guys to be discerning with the news so you’re not flooding yourself and your nervous system all day with it. But then you can largely ward off the fear and the panic energy and just take care of your body and do the best that you can every day. It’s really all you can do.
Katelyn Rush: I agree. Yeah, that’s something good to think about as we head into our break here, just what how we feel and what we think is enough and try to keep that outside noise to a minimum. So think on that Beauties as we give Kimberly a short break here and then she’ll be back to answer the last two questions.
Kimberly Snyder: All right Beauties. We have two more questions for you guys on this topic of staying healthy, reducing sickness with movement, even if you are quarantined right now, even if you are staying inside your home, your apartment. Tips and tools for what you can do to really stay feeling your best.

Katelyn Rush: Yes, we have another great question from Reese out of Florida. I tend to get nauseous during my monthly cycles. Are there exercises I should steer clear from when menstruating?
Kimberly Snyder: So Reese, this is a great question. I think it applies to the time. I think it applies to all of us women on our moon cycles, this idea of kind of along the lines of the last question about really listening to your body and not staying rigid. When we get blinders on and we think that everything has to be the same way every day, I need to eat exactly the same number of calories, I need to burn these calories through the workout, I need to exercise for X amount of time every day, I need to stick to this, stick to this. That doesn’t really allow the space for listening to the vast, vast, vast intelligence of your body. I think that’s when we do get run down. I think that’s when we start to get blocks and obstacles. There’s a lot of research around doing the same exercise all the time, your body can get used to it. So it’s good to vary terrain or different types of exercise, so on and so forth.
Kimberly Snyder: So I think that our moon cycle is, menstrual cycle, moon cycle, I like to call it, is a really great time for tuning into that. In nature, we look at the way that the moon shifts. Sometimes she’s huge and full. Sometimes she is dark in the new moon period. We see this reflected in nature and it’s so beautiful, the cycles of nature. I admit that I really fall into this myself because I’m used to walking a certain amount of time every day. It’s good for my headspace, but with all that’s going on, and the hormonal fluctuation in my body, and just the way that my joints are relaxing now, and the back pain, and the neck pain, I am forced to vary my own routine. Like I said, I usually do this walk in my neighborhood that I really love since we moved here a couple months ago, but it’s starting to feel a bit too much because it’s quite hilly. So now I have to drive to this park area and just walk flat. But honestly, I think that’s what my body needs right now. So I will say this is a time to practice what’s going on with your fatigue levels.
Kimberly Snyder: Some of us aren’t sleeping so well right now. Some of us are affected with insomnia, your period, so on and so forth. So during your period, especially if you’re feeling nauseous, this may not be the best time to do high intensity workouts like running on a treadmill at home or doing hit workouts, even if you’re streaming them into your home or to your apartment. It’s maybe a great time to just go for a walk or do some gentle yoga, especially in that period leading up to your period, those few days before is when I would usually feel a little bit more inward and wanting to route down and just do more floor poses and sort of stay close to home. I think again, you may not really feel like doing high intensity if you’re menstruating, if you’re on your moon cycle.
Kimberly Snyder: I think it’s important to honor that. There’s places in the world that when women are on their period, they don’t even go to work. They literally rest and they go inward and they let that cycle pass through. So think about that, where it’s honored. And it’s been that way in certain cultures all around the world, and yet in our culture, it’s like we treat every day of the month almost the same way. There’s cycles, and there’s periods, and there’s the circadian rhythms, and there’s lunar cycles. There’s cycles upon cycles, circles upon circles in nature. Honoring that within our own body is such a beautiful way to stay really healthy and to stay at our peak vitality.
Kimberly Snyder: I always say, Reese, just like we were speaking about earlier, listen to your body, adjust for that period, know that when you’re on your period, it’s going to feel very different than when you’re in different parts of your cycle and that’s okay. Your foods may want to shift as well. You may feel like more comforting foods, more elixirs, more warmth, more comfort. During my period, I tend to have a lot of Kitcheree. Naturally, may want more iron because you are bleeding. So foods like black beans and lentils and greens, great thing to also have that time of the month. So just pay attention to your needs in all areas, I would say, food wise and exercise wise.
Katelyn Rush: 100%. I know when I was training, my coach would adjust things during that time. And there would be other girls on my team that were more sensitive and would feel… There’s research and different books about exercise with your cycle and how to adapt and things like that. Just to know, it’s not all in your head. For me, I used to be like, “Oh I feel weak that I can’t do that.” But it’s okay to honor your body and the changes it goes through every month and do what you can when you can, I think is a big like team today that’s coming up of just really listening to your body and being okay with it. Me being a perfectionist, I always want to push things and feel like I should be at peak performance 24/7 and that’s just not a reality.
Kimberly Snyder: Mm-mm (negative). It’s not reality and that’s not really healthy. Rigidity is not the way of nature. Flexibility is the way of nature. Think about that.
Katelyn Rush: Yeah. No, for sure. Just those reminders of… I didn’t even think about it as being rigid. Then, it’s like when you started to go, “Oh, wow.” I just need to let loose in certain areas. So if anybody else struggles with that, you’re not alone. There are some great tips from Kim on how to deal with that. Even if you’re not dealing with your period, you just feel maybe burnout from work or going through a stressful time in life, any of these things can apply.
Kimberly Snyder: Okay. When you’re saying that, you know how I love my analogies?
Katelyn Rush: Yeas.
Kimberly Snyder: It made me think about imagery in nature that really speaks to me. That’s why I wrote about waterfalls and ponds and the Beauty Detox Solution. My mind always goes to pictures. When you were saying that, I had an image of like an old tree that’s really dry and rigid and breaks. The wind comes and it starts to break down and different parts of it start to chip away. It starts to look really withered and old, quite frankly. And now contrast that with a beautiful willow tree, let’s say. So the wind comes and it sort of shifts around, and blows in the wind, it goes in different directions, and bows down and then moves. There is this fluidity, and this youthfulness, and this suppleness that comes from flexibility. So I would ask you Beauties, where do you need, especially in this time, where do you need to let go of… what do you need to let go of in your life that you’ve been holding on to?
Kimberly Snyder: Is it an idea, again, that you need to exercise a certain way every day? Is it that you have to… it’s all or nothing, you’re doing this workout or you’re not? Is it you relating to your food? And where can you let flexibility in? Flexible with your moon cycle, flexible with your feelings, flexible when you feel like something is weighing you down and you’re starting to get a little bit of sickness. For me, pregnancy has been that no confrontation for myself saying, “I guess I’m not going to do these walks all the time.” This period as well, you know what, I guess I’m not going to do walks, even the flat walks every day, because I have Bubby home with me all day. He’s entertained, right now, for this podcast. But it’s just saying, “What can I let go of, because I don’t really need to hold on to it anymore?” That’s a great thing to ponder during this period.
Question 4: I’ve been kind of down in the dumps emotionally. I lost my job due to the recent pandemic. Is there one form of exercise you think is best for brightening my mood? Say walking, running, yoga? What do you think?
Katelyn Rush: Yes, can definitely apply to a lot of areas of life for sure. That’s a good one. All right. We have one more question today for our show, from Leah living in Michigan. I’ve been kind of down in the dumps emotionally. I lost my job due to the recent pandemic. Is there one form of exercise you think is best for brightening my mood? Say walking, running, yoga? What do you think?
Kimberly Snyder: Leah, thank you so much for your question. I am sorry to hear about what’s going on. And I just want to say that I send you a big virtual hug. Thank you so much for your question and for joining in. It is a time where a lot of people’s lives are shifting, including with their jobs, including with all the massive layoffs in different industries. So I just want you to brighten your mood, keep your spirits up, remember that this isn’t going to last forever. And sometimes these things are… Or often, these things are all blessings in disguise.
Kimberly Snyder: My friend who works in luxury PR travel has lost all her clients, and she’s just really passionate about animal rights, and being plant based. She was saying to me yesterday, “I think I’m going to shift focus now and maybe focus on that interest in my life.” So I thought, “Oh, wow. It’s really amazing to think about shifting and pivoting and expanding.” And maybe Leah, this is a blessing in disguise for you, even though right now temporarily, it’s really hard. Maybe something will open up from this, maybe you will grow, maybe you will go into a different part of your career. So we don’t know yet, but I love your question about brightening your mood, keeping your spirits up.
Kimberly Snyder: I think that a combination… And this is what I do, but I really do believe in it, obviously, which is why I practice it. A combination of walking and yoga. Again, not doing the same thing every day, or maybe doing a little of both, is really great for your spirits. Walking is gentle on your joints, so you’re not going to feel exhausted from it. You’re not going to feel depleted. But at the same time, it’s great for digestion. It’s great for your brain and for your mood. It keeps your blood going. It increases circulation, and oxygen and blood flow to your brain. So it will keep you alert, and focused, and just feels good to move your whole body in that way. I would encourage you to walk while you’re listening to music that feels good. So for me, I love listening to Deva Premal and Krishna Das yoga music, and mantras.
Kimberly Snyder: I like also listening to music that doesn’t have any words. So instrumental music, or just music I kind of trance out on. That, I think, music with walking is a really powerful combination. I think yoga too, and moving your spine, and getting stagnation out, and breathing, deep breathing, also is a great mood elevator, so you could try those things. I also want to encourage you to find music that feels really great to you. I love all these Spotify music radio stations. I go to a song that I like, like I said, whether it’s a Krishna Das song, or whatever, and then I just hit the button to go to the radio station. And then sometimes I find new artists, or I just keep that going a lot of the time during the day.
Kimberly Snyder: Music is such a powerful vibration, it changes our mood, it can help us feel more upbeat. So you want to keep that flow going even if you’re stuck at home, you’re bummed about your job and the situation shifting. But it can be a powerful tool for helping you stay creative. Remember, you’re infinitely creative and there are resources out there. This period isn’t going to go on forever. So when all’s said and done, you can find creative solutions, you may shift your position and be able to grow from this. So try it out for yourself and see how you do.
Katelyn Rush: Yeah, I definitely feel fortunate that we do have access to technology during a time like this, so-
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah.
Katelyn Rush: … you still feel like you can have the world at your fingertips too. Even though maybe we can’t go to live concerts, you can stream music, you could still watch conferences, or podcasts, or your favorite TV show, to kind of set your mind in a different direction, versus constantly maybe watching the news or trolling on social media. So I think those are great tips. I don’t always go to music first, personally, so I that was a good reminder for me too. Because I know there are times when I feel down and I put on a good song and you just kind of forgot what’s going on.
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah. It makes a big difference, doesn’t it?
Katelyn Rush: It does, because it can just reset your mood, or some songs the maybe linked to nostalgia during a certain time, that brighten our mood, or a certain person, things like that. So I think that can be especially helpful when everybody may be just feeling not quite themselves at this time.
Kimberly Snyder: Mm-hmm (affirmative). Yeah.

Katelyn Rush: Yeah. I mean, there’s so much to talk about. But as we’re winding down the show, I wasn’t sure if anything maybe came to mind for you that you want to share as your inspirational quote of the week here?
Kimberly Snyder: It is. I definitely do feel more introspective this time, Kay, as I think we all are in different ways. This quote I want to leave you guys with resonate to what I said earlier about building our house on rock versus sand and tuning into the strength inside of yourself. So it is: Adversity, when we are taken out of our comfort zone is an amazing opportunity for you to awaken to the deeper dimensions of strength within you. So let me say it again: Adversity, when you’re taken out of your comfort zone is an opportunity for you to awaken to the deeper dimensions of strength inside of you. So when we float along in our normal life, it goes on day after day, week after week, month after month, we get into these patterns.
Kimberly Snyder: Again, it’s like, “Oh, this is how I exercise. This is how I eat. This is what I do. This is how I hang out. This is where I go out to eat in restaurants.” And it becomes this habitual way that our life gets created. When we’re not in our comfort zone, when we are in times of adversity, which now, we are experiencing on a global level. And I can say in my own life, I look back when my mom passed away suddenly, when I have gone through difficult breakups, when I was getting over bulimia in high school, moments of great adversity. On the other side, I’ve looked back and can say, “Oh my gosh, did I grow so much from that? Did I get so strong from that?”
Kimberly Snyder: This is an opportunity. We don’t have to take it. We could just sit here and fear and watch the news all day. Or we can choose to use this time to go deeper into ourselves and to find that strength, to find a deeper connection with our bodies, with ourselves, with the security, the depth inside of us. There is something unshakable inside of us. There is a foundation that we all have access to. So I would encourage you Beauties to use this opportunity, to use this time to go deeper. And I send you so much love. I know that it is a time of great challenge and adversity on the surface, and tension, and anxiety, but remember that you can… First of all, be discerning with the news. Stay informed, but don’t get overwhelmed.
